Conquest:Link
Linking (Japanese: リンク) is a gameplay mechanic in Nintendo DS Pokémon Conquest. The ability to link with wild Pokémon is unlocked during the story The Legend of Ransei (Japanese: ランセの伝説) after conquering the fifth Kingdom (Japanese: 国).
Linking with a Pokémon requires the Warrior or Warlord to be adjacent to the desired Pokémon, where the link prompt is clicked, and a mini game is activated for that turn. The player must press the A button or tap the touch screen when a glowing orb passes through a ring to increase the bond between Warrior and Pokémon. It usually takes multiple turns to link with a Pokémon, which is why it may be wise to "prime" the Pokémon with a secondary warrior to make it easier to finish it with the proper warrior on the same turn.
Linking with a Pokémon on the battlefield will remove it from the field of battle, which can also aid in victory. A dialogue will play after a warrior links with their perfect link species of family. It plays after recruited warriors are delegated to the player's chosen kingdoms for them.
Perfect Link
Each warrior and Warlord has a Perfect Link (Japanese: ベストリンク) which is the only relevant link worth connecting with, as anything else cannot be linked up to 100%, and in some cases, won't even be able to fully evolve due to those limitations.
